The Destructive Impact of Termites
Termites are responsible for damaging around 600,000 homes in the US annually, and The Woodlands is no exception. These tiny pests can cause extensive harm by burrowing into wood structures, leading to weakened foundations and potential safety hazards. The warm and humid climate of The Woodlands provides an ideal environment for termites to thrive, increasing the risk of infestations.
The Cost of Termite Treatment
Dealing with a termite infestation can be financially burdensome. The average residential termite treatment in The Woodlands can cost over $1,000 for a one-time treatment, and additional warranty renewals can range from $100 and up. Moreover, many homeowner’s insurance policies do not cover termite damage, leaving property owners with significant out-of-pocket expenses.
It Pays to Prepare
BUGCO® Pest Control’s Termite Pledge is a service we provide to our customers to save them from costly termite treatments and repairs. To qualify, customers must be enrolled in our Residential Pest Control and Convenience Agreement and correct any conducive conditions on the property that make it especially vulnerable to termites.
Four major conducive conditions must be avoided to qualify for our Termite Pledge. First, high soil that covers up your home’s foundations or any “weep holes” can allow termites access to the lumber of your home’s structure. Similarly, moisture or water sources that puddle against or along the side of your home (or under your home if you have a pier and beam foundation) can give them an easy point of entry.
Any clutter against the exterior of the house, such as heavy foliage or stacked firewood, makes thorough termite inspection impossible and needs to be removed or relocated. And finally, wood rot around windows, eaves, or at the base of the siding usually requires replacement of rotten wood or the reapplication of proper paint to cover up this area.
