With Halloween right around the corner it only seems appropriate to shed some light on what could only be called the real creepy crawlies. If you think you have seen some scary pests around the home or office, then you haven’t seen anything yet. By the time you are done reading this, you will be glad you have Houston pest control management on your side.
Scary Bug #1 – The Bullet Ant
What could be so bad about a little tiny ant? If you tangled with the Bullet Ant you would not be asking this question. The name of this one inch ant should give you some important insight into why you would want to leave it alone. They its bite or sting feels like getting shot by a bullet. It is rated as the most painful insect bite in the entire world. To make things even worse, this ant is known to shriek before it attacks! Luckily these nasty insects live in South America.
Scary Bug #2 – The Africanized Killer Bee
There have been a few B movies (no pun intended) made about this aggressive bee. You have nothing to fear with normal bees. They will sting you if you bother them but for the most part they stick to their own.
Killer bees are not so nice. Killer bees will not tolerate an “intruder” anywhere near their hive for any amount of time. They will send out every possible warrior bee to kill the “intruder.” You can run, but these bees will chase you for miles. Aggressive would be a massive understatement. While these bees have been found in the states, the chances of you running into them are slim. Thank goodness!
Scary Bug #3 – Army Ants
Yes another ant makes the list for super scary bugs. This one has been known to surgically dismantle any living creature that stands in its ways and they do this blind. That’s right, these ants can’t see a thing but that does not stop them from being one of the most frightening bugs on the planet! Thankfully these are native to south America. That seems like the place to stay away from.
These frightful insects should help you put our local insect pests into perspective. Luckily we don’t have to deal with these frightening bugs in the living room!
