Eliminating rodents from your home or business starts with a thorough rodent inspection by a profession pest control technician from BUGCO. Darrell explains how we do rodent inspections at BUGCO Pest Control.
Summary of What’s Checked in a Rodent Inspection from BUGCO Pest Control
– Hello, this is Darrell with BUGCO Pest Control, and today we’re going to be talking about rats and mice and what we check in a rodent inspection.
A BUGCO Rodent Inspection Starts with Your Home’s Exterior
So, with any rodent inspection, we’re going to want to check the exterior of the home, see where any potential entry points are. We check anywhere from the AC and the AC lines going into the home, to the eaves, just under the roofline, attic spaces, and the garage. We also check your front door, window seals, and any additional openings, such as the weep holes on the exterior of your home. These are all crucial points.
One thing we note in our rodent inspection is foliage. If you have trees, have any trees touching the roofline or vines touching the house, these are all conditions that are going to aid rodents in getting into your home.
Adjacent Properties Could be Rodent Breeding Areas
Other things to consider are not only your property, but the properties on each side of you, adjacent to you, behind you. If you live near ponds or parks, these are all places where you have no control over the environmental conditions. So while your house could be sealed off, and the yard not be a site that harbors rodents, the neighbor to the left or right of you could have had a tree cut down the year prior, never cleaned up the mess, and now it’s a breeding site for rodents. This is just a for instance.
If you have ponds, lakes, streams nearby, any fields, these are all areas in which rodents are going to breed and then they are going to come looking for food, water, and shelter in your residence. So for rodents in general, we’re going to want to inspect the home and ensure that it’s sealed up properly to prevent rodents from getting in.
We’ll Provide an Exclusion Proposal to Seal Any Entry Points We Find
So there’s a variety of factors that go into that. That’s when a BUGCO Pest Control technician will come in, inspect your home, provide you what’s known as an an exclusion proposal, or a proposal to seal or patch certain areas that may be prone to rodent entry. BUGCO Pest Control also offers a variety of methods to help reduce the numbers of rodents on the exterior of the home.
